Sharon Stone is an American actress and was nominated for an Oscar.

She was born in Pennsylvania in 1958 and her father was a factory worker. At the age of 15 he received a scholarship to study fine arts at the University of Pennsylvania.

She began her career working as a model in New York for magazines and television commercials. She also won the title of Miss Pennsylvania.

In 1980 she decided to become an actress and starred in several short films and television series.

She was photographed for Playboy magazine in 1990 and this placed her on the list of Top 25 sexiest stars of the century. People magazine also ranked her among the 50 most beautiful people.

She became world famous for her role in the sensual film Basic Instinct after many controversial scenes were presented.

She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for this role. But she won this award with her role in the movie Casino.

After 1995 she starred in several dramatic films. In 1999 she stopped working as an actress until 2004. In recent years she has starred in a few short films.

In 1984 she married a film producer but their marriage lasted only three years. In 1998 she remarried to a publisher with whom they adopted a son. Their marriage lasted until 2004. In 2001 she had serious health problems after bleeding in the brain. In 2005 and 2006 he adopted two more sons.

Her most famous movies are Casino, Basic Instinct, Total recall, Sliver, Police Academy 4 and Catwoman.
