The year 2019 was a period during which China exceeded in emissions all the emissions of developed countries as a whole.

The measurements were taken for the USA, China, India and the 27 Member States of the European Union.

China for 2019 was the first in emissions with 27% of global emissions. The US was second with 11% and India with 6.6%. Then there was the EU with a percentage of 6.4%.

China has tripled its greenhouse gas emissions over the past three decades.

Nevertheless, the country’s authorities are committed that the country wants to work with the international community to be able to reduce these emissions. They claim that by the middle of this century, China will not emit any gases that are harmful to the environment.

For the time being the economic development of the country depends on the use of coal as a fuel and this is paramount.

Coal use produces more than half of the country’s energy needs.
