Will China become the leading country in terms of artificial intelligence?

Currently the country with the most advanced artificial intelligence systems is the USA. But China is rapidly narrowing the gap between it and the United States.

In recent years, Chinese companies have been completing more patents than the US.

But things were not like that 20 years ago. At that time the gap between the two countries was huge. The United States at the time, with its training centers and private sector, was the only country that could actually invest in this sector.

In 1997 China’s share in this sector was 4.26% while in 2017 it rose to 27.68% which is higher than that of the USA.
