Research has shown that dolphins developed similar characteristics to humans despite their very different environments.
Curiosity and sociability were two of them.
The experiments took place at 8 different facilities located in Mexico, USA, France, Bahamas and Cayman Islands. A total of 134 dolphins, male and female, were examined.
Researchers say this is the first time dolphins’ personality has been examined in this way.
The reason dolphins were examined is because they were already known to be intelligent and social beings. Even their brains are much larger than required for their movement needs. The rest of their brain mass translates into intelligence.
It just needs to be clarified that these characteristics are similar and not the same as humans.
The research started in 2012.
