The dropping of atomic bombs on Japan was the last episode of World War II.

The Americans had the most powerful weapon in their hands and wanted to hasten the end of the war to reduce their losses. Even with the victory that this weapon would give them, it would make them the most powerful military and economic power in the world after the war.

After the fall of Berlin, Japan refused to surrender resulting in heavy losses on all sides in manpower and material resources. Fear of a protracted war was high in the US camp.

The American generals suggested dropping an atomic bomb on Japan for an immediate victory. Finally, the green light was given by the political leadership of the country.

The pilot who would carry out the mission was specially trained and operated a B29 bomber.

On August 6, 1945, the plane dropped the bomb over Hiroshima and when it was 600 meters high, it exploded. It was a uranium bomb that turned everything to dust in an area of 11 square kilometers. It caused instant death to 100,000 people while another 130,000 were missing. The survivors had a life of martyrdom for the rest of their lives.

The Japanese probably did not immediately understand the power of the new weapon, so they did not surrender.

So the US resumed dropping such a bomb after three days in Nagasaki. There, 36,000 people were killed instantly and 40,000 were seriously injured. An area of 5 square kilometers was destroyed.

So the next day the process of the japanese surrender began.
