The ‘dragon houses’ in Evia are made of square stone blocks without any binding material.
Although it is not clear when they were made, it is estimated that this was over 2,000 years ago. This was demonstrated by research by Swiss and Greek scientists.
It is still not known what their original use was. But it is estimated that they were sanctuaries or shelters or outposts.
Later, however, they were used as sheepfolds and for other various uses.
There are 7 such structures and legend has it that they were built by humanoid giants with supernatural powers.
