Today the journey from Europe to Australia takes 20 hours.
Now a Swiss start-up, Destinus, is designing an aircraft that can fly from Europe to Australia in 4 hours.
The prototype has been tested for two years and its fuel is hydrogen.
Its creators say its speed will be 6,100 kilometers per hour, 5 times the speed of sound, and the secret to this performance is the fuel.
The challenges that still exist are safety as well as the need for powerful coolers to keep the engines from overheating at such high speeds.
The journey from London to New York will take 1.5 hours.
