The German company BMW has recently launched its own yacht and its name is ICON.
It is the first yacht of its kind that operates on batteries. It has 6 batteries with a total energy of 240 kWh, the same with which the BMW i3 car is equipped.
The propulsion is made by 2 electric motors of 100 kW each.
With this data it has a maximum range of 50 nautical miles at a speed of 24 knots.
Its length is 13 meters and its width 4.5. Its maximum speed is 30 knots.
Its exterior design has fins to enhance its aerodynamics. Its designers say that these contribute to reducing the energy the yacht needs by 80% compared to yachts of conventional design.
Inside there is an entertainment room, a living room and a 32-inch touch screen that also works with voice commands.
