Conrad Hilton was an American businessman who founded the Hilton Hotels chain.

He was born in 1887.

When he was young he worked in the store that his father owned.

During World War I he served in the US Army for 2 years.

In the period between 1912 and 1916 he was a representative of the Republican Party.

In 1919 he bought his first hotel, which was in Texas. He continued his professional activities buying and selling hotels.

During the Great Depression that lasted from 1929 to 1939, he suffered severe financial losses that almost drove him to bankruptcy. But with the passing of the crisis, he managed to recover and continued to expand.

It grew to have 188 hotels in the US and 54 outside the country.

In 1925 he got married and had 3 children. She got divorced 9 years later.

In 1942 he married the actress Zsa Zsa Gabor with whom he had 1 child. They divorced in 1947.

During his life he was religious and philanthropic.

In 1979 he died of pneumonia.
