The X-59 is an experimental supersonic aircraft manufactured by Skunk Works for NASA.

The purpose is to carry out tests to create an ideal design so that at supersonic speeds there is no sonic boom.

If this goal is achieved then maybe supersonic flights over residential areas will be approved, something that has been prohibited until now so as not to frighten the population from the sonic boom that occurs.

It is even impressive that the cockpit is located low in the body of the aircraft, which does not allow visibility. For this there is the eXternal Vision System (XVS) which has cameras on the outside of the aircraft and displays inside the cockpit to provide visibility to the operators.
