Anaximander was the first to create the 1st world map and consequently geography evolved.

He was born in 610 BC. and lived until 546 BC.

One of his teachers was Thales the Milesian.

His oeuvre includes works on philosophy, geography, geometry, cosmology, and politics.

Regarding space, he tried to explain various issues of the universe. Specifically, he was the first to write a record of the universe and the origin of life. One of the subjects of astronomy was his attempt to understand the laws of the heavenly bodies in relation to the Earth.

He was able to construct sundials and indicate the solstices and equinoxes.

He was also the first to understand that the sun is a huge mass and that the heavenly bodies revolve around it at different distances.

He is considered the father of cosmology and the founder of astronomy.
