Researchers discovered a method to transform human waste into jet fuel.
The company is named Firefly Green Fuels and it is based in England.
It is a biofuel like jet fuel but with 92% carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction in emissions.
Air travel contributes to 2% of global CO2 emissions so if this succeeds, there will be a major benefit for the environment.
There is a need to develop a readily available and inexpensive resource. The technique is known as hydrothermal liquefaction and it involves high pressure and high temperature.
