The 2 countries are working together to have a nuclear reactor on the moon by 2035.

In 2021 their space agencies signed an agreement to build a research base on the moon.

The nuclear reactor will be automated to power the International Lunar Research Station. That means that it will operate without human involvement.

It worth mentioning that Russia is preparing a nuclear-powered cargo spaceship, with high-power turbines to transport heavy cargoes from one orbit to the other.
