Researchers at the Institute for Chemical Reaction Design and Discovery (ICReDD) at Hokkaido University discovered a chemical reaction that makes toxic compound safer for the environment and so for humans and animals as well.

An estimate shows that every year, 267 million tons of plastic waste is created which causes pollution.

This method is cheap and safe. It smashes the grocery-plastic bags with metal balls. This forces their chemical bonds to break apart.

As we know plastics take hundreds of years to break down if wasted in the environment.
