The reasons US aircraft carriers are almost invincible

The American aircraft carriers have formidable offensive capabilities and unmatched flexibility.

But there are concerns over the cost and their vulnerability to attacks since they carry thousands of soldier and many aircrafts and helicopters. That makes them a ‘lucrative’ target. As for the cost to build them, to operate and sustain them and the cost for the escort vessels, is a fraction of the cost would be needed to offer America such a domination.   

They are nuclear-powered and well-known for their robust defenses, advanced radars and protective network.

Only nuclear weapons can sink them.

The reasons they are almost ‘invincible’.

• They are fast and resilient.
• They are equipped with active and passive defenses, sensors, missiles, aircrafts and helicopters.
• They operate close to other ships and submarines to increase their security.
