It is designed to transport the enormous blades of the offshore wind turbines, since they cannot be transported easily over land.
We live in an era where renewable energy is a necessity so larger and more efficient blades are needed. Such blades could be as long as a football field.
It will be able to carry 80 tons (12 times as much as a Boeing 747). 2 Km runways will be needed at the sites where blades are manufactured.
This will accelerate the growth of wind power since the generation of electricity using wind energy will double with blades of this size.
