Space X launches GPS III satellite for the U.S. military

Space X Falcon 9 rocket launched the latest Global Positioning System.

That is the GPS III SV-08 satellite which is a 3^rd generation GPS satellite built by Lockheed Martin.

90 minutes after taking off, the satellite was into orbit, 12.550 miles above Earth.

It will be used by the military and for civilian emergency situations.

It is a contract signed in 2008 and includes 10 such satellites.

These satellites have better anti-jamming, accuracy and reliability.
