Japanese Izumo aircraft carriers are multi-role warships and are the largest ships in the Japanese Navy.
They are two in number and the first was launched in 2013 and the second in 2015. The cost of building the first ship amounted to 114 billion yen (1.04 billion US dollars).
It has a length of 248 meters and a width of 38. Its displacement is 19,500 tons when it is empty and 27,000 tons when it is at its maximum load. The total horsepower of its four engines is 112,000. Its maximum speed is 30 knots (56km / h).
Its role is to transport up to 28 aircraft of them and F-35, up to 7 helicopters, up to 50 trucks, supplies and personnel.
It will also have equipment for submarine sinking and monitoring systems.
