The IVAS (Integrated Visual Augmentation System) is the new goggles that will be provided to American soldiers to help them in battle. Their evolution began three years ago.
It was developed by the US military to provide useful information to soldiers on the battlefield.
They have a screen for 3D maps, GPS, communication system, night vision system, thermal vision, infrared system and mission organization system. This will help them to see in smoke but also places that are not in the soldier’s field of vision such as through walls.
The device will be integrated into the soldiers’ helmet and will help them better understand the situation they are in.
Also all IVAS will be connected with a communication system so that all the information collected is available to the other members of the team.
Tests have shown that they are easy to use. As for the team leaders, they will know at any time where each of their members is. They still believe that this system will save many lives of American soldiers.
