The Palm Jumairah is an artificial structure in the Emirate of Dubai which is specifically an island. This island has been built within the Persian Gulf on the coastline of the emirate.
It is the first of three artificial islands to be built under the name Palm Islands, with the other two being Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira.
The construction was created by two Dutch companies specializing in island construction, Van Oord and Boskalis.
These two also built the artificial islands in Dubai called The World.
Its construction began in 2001 and by 2006 the houses were ready, which was 4,500. Three years later, the construction of 28 hotels was completed.
It also has a train that connects the Atlantis Hotel which is built on the edge of Palm Jumeira with the emirate coast.
