The name of this new device is Quad-legged unmanned ground vehicle or Q-UGV which means four-legged unmanned ground vehicle.

The use of these ‘dogs’ will be the surveillance of areas such as military camps. It will be semi-automatic and will help those in charge to extract better data for risk situations. It will help to monitor remote places but which are crucial.

They can crouch and walk low and penetrate narrow places. It is also capable of walking on inaccessible terrain, overcoming obstacles and operating in extreme temperatures. It will still be able to move both fast and slow. Even the plethora of cameras and sensors at its disposal will be able to provide images in 360 degrees.

The reason it was preferred to be built with legs and not with wheels or chains is because on legs it is easier to move in difficult places.

It will not replace the real dogs used by the army, police and other security units.

Its initial price is 75,000 US dollars.
