The Temple of Solomon or Temple of Jerusalem was a temple built by Solomon in the 10th century BC. Specifically in 955 BC.
It was located in present-day Har Habit in Old Jerusalem on Mount Moriah and was a place of worship for ancient Judaism.
According to tradition, Solomon built it at the behest of God who gave it to his father David. The temple was to be built by David himself but God told him that his son Solomon would build it. It was built according to the plans that God presented to David.
But it was David who began to gather the building materials and precious metals that would be used. Another 100,000 golden coins, 1,000,000 silver coins and plenty of copper and iron were collected. David himself offered from his personal fortune 3,000 golden coins and 7,000 silver coins. Its current value would amount to 50 billion euros.
It was built with the contribution of all 12 tribes of Israel which were united under the leadership of David.
Destroyed in 587 BC. by the Babylonians when they conquered Jerusalem.
So it was rebuilt. The works for the second temple lasted from 516 BC. until 70 BC. This temple was built only with the effort of the tribe of Judah.
The temple was destroyed again by the Romans and rebuilt by Herod.
