In August 2021 the planet has seen huge fires in various parts of the Earth that burned for days and weeks which alerted not only firefighters but also environmentalists.
Parts of Europe and North America have experienced the most devastating fires in their history.
The question at the moment is how these fires are linked to the climate that seems to plague humanity. Several more areas counted the highest temperatures they experienced which lead to great drought.
It is worth mentioning that in 2020 in the USA 2.5 million hectares of forest were burned, while in 2021 3.5 million.
Climate change is negatively affecting our lives since,
- It brings more intense and prolonged heat waves.
- Worst droughts
- Dry flora which means fuel for fires
- More humidity in the atmosphere that will create more intense rains so floods will follow.
Turkey also faced the worst fires on its territory in the aforementioned month.
We should also mention that experts claim that these extreme weather phenomena would not have existed if it were not for climate change.
