The Manga Carta was an English charter issued in 1215 and is considered one of the most important documents of democracy and the rule of law.
Its meaning was Great Charter of Liberties.
In particular, it forced the king to renounce some of his powers, to obey the legal procedures and to respect the rights of the country’s citizens.
Its most important terms were that the Church of England would be free and have rights and liberties. Still the city of London will retain its liberties and customs and also, the port cities will have free customs. Still every citizen will have rights.
