Yilan Crater, as it is called, is 1.85 kilometers in diameter and was likely formed between 46,000 and 53,000 years ago, according to NASA.

Located in northeastern China, it is the largest impact crater (space rock that hit Earth) ever created.

It was dated with radiocarbon and organic sediments. The researchers collected the sediment samples from the crater core.

The second largest impact crater is located in Arizona, has a diameter of 1.2 kilometers and was created 50,000 years ago.
