Giethoorn is located in the Netherlands in the National Park Weerribben – Wieden and is an idyllic village.

There are many 18th and 19th century thatched farms built on small islands. These islets are joined by 170 small wooden bridges. Still the food is fantastic at the quaint restaurants by the water.

This is also why it is called the Venice of the Netherlands. The tourist can tour in small boats in the canals. It is an environment of lakes, reedbeds and forests.

Near the area there are historical buildings, churches and castles.
