Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb were two bright students from wealthy Chicago families.

They wanted to prove to themselves how clever they are by committing what they believed to be the ‘perfect’ crime.

For months they organized the kidnapping and murder of a child.

Finally in May 1924 they acted. They offered Loeb’s 14-year-old cousin a ride home.

The murder was done by beatings with clubs.

Police discovered Leopold’s glasses where they left the body.

When they were arrested they admitted when they committed the crime just for the experience.

Eventually Loeb was murdered in prison and Leopold remained behind bars for 34 years.
