Russian company Lobaev Arms is working to develop a rifle that will be able to propel bullets up to Mach 6 (the speed of sound). Velocity in excess of 2,000 meters per second.

These bullets are supposed to help shooters increase their shooting accuracy. This is because the very high speeds drastically reduce the effect of external factors, such as wind, altitude, air density, etc. on the bullet itself. This will help the shots to be up to seven kilometers. Today shots with a conventional rifle are up to two kilometers.

This will be achieved by using special chemicals to propel the bullet and not with gunpowder, as are the bullets we know.
