Brothers Lyle and Erik seemed to be living the perfect American dream. Their father was a Cuban immigrant who came to the US and made his fortune starting by washing dishes.
He was a person who ‘pushed’ his two sons a lot for success. That’s why they both worked hard and were good students and athletes.
Eventually, however, the two brothers took the wrong path after they started getting involved in bad company.
When they killed their parents the two brothers were 21 and 18 years old. The crime was committed in 1989 in their home, in one of the wealthiest areas of Beverly Hills.
The police initially believed that the crime was committed by a business rival of their father.
After the crime, the two brothers did not mourn but led a prodigal life, squandering a lot of money.
Eventually Erik admitted their deed to a therapist when he was arrested for theft.
They told the police that they did this to relieve their mother of misery due to abuse by their father. They also said their father sexually abused them when they were children.
They were sentenced to life imprisonment.
