Berchtesgaden is a municipality in southeastern Germany, in the Bavarian Alps.

The economy of the area previously started with the opening of the mine that produced salt, in 1517.

For tourists, a good choice is the Hotel Tuerken which has underground rooms and corridors, which were used by the Nazis.

Another nice place is the Berchtesgaden National Park which was started in 1978 and has been attracting a large number of tourists ever since.

Other well-known tourist spots in the area are the Konigssee, the salt mine, the Kehlsteinhaus, and the Dokumentationszentrum Obersalzberg museum.

It is a famous place for the big ski slope. Many international tournaments are also organized there as well as the International Luge Federation.
