The Starship rocket is the largest and most powerful rocket ever built. It has a height of 120 meters and 33 engines.
It was a test flight to gather information for future manned missions to Mars. This is so that humanity can be saved in the event of Earth’s destruction.
It is designed to return to Earth to be reused.
It took off in Texas, USA and 4 minutes after take off, it exploded. It was 8:33 am US time.
Earlier that week the flight was canceled due to a compression problem.
The reason it exploded was because the thruster section could not detach from the passenger section. It is not yet known if the missile exploded uncontrollably or if the Flight Termination System was activated.
SpaceX announced that the chances of success of the first flight were very slim.
Currently, other such rockets are already being built for future tests.
The other purpose of the rocket is to make trips to Earth. The journey from London to Tokyo will take less than an hour.
