AbramsX is the latest iteration of the Abrams tank. They are named after US Army General Creighton Abrams. They are designed by Chrysler Defense.
Abrams tanks entered service in the 1980s, designed to stop the Red Army from invading Western Europe. Since this did not happen, these tanks were used for other operations, mainly in Operation Desert Storm.
It features advanced Chobham armor, which is a composite armor providing superior protection against threats.
This new version is equipped with a 1.500 horsepower gas turbine engine that creates a top speed of 72 km/hour.
It has a 120mm smoothbore gun, it has a digital command system and a laser warning receiver that can detect when the tank is targeted by laser weapons and deploys countermeasures.
