It is an outlaw motorcycle club with a worldwide membership.
It was formed in San Leon of Texas in 1966. Now it has 2.000 to 2.500 members in 22 countries.
It is the 2nd largest motorcycle club in the world after the Hells Angels. It is classified as an organized crime syndicate involved in drug and arms trafficking, prostitution, extortion, money laundering and murder.
In 1966 members from biker bars were recruited. Only white or Hispanic American males were chosen that owned at least 1 Harley-Davidson bike. In the 1970s many Vietnam veterans became members.
In 1983 the Australian branch was launched. In 1989 the one in Marseille of France.
In the 1990s there was an expansion to Nordic countries. 1993 Denmark, 1994 Sweden and 1995 Finland and Norway.
2000 Germany, 2001 Italy and Thailand, 2003 Channel Islands, 2004 Costa Rica, 2006 Malaysia and Singapore, 2012 New Zealand, 2014 Netherlands (in 2017 in was prohibited in the country), 2016 Abu Dhabi and recent years in Spain, Belgium, Estonia, Greece, England, Ireland, Russia and Eastern Europe.
