He was born in 1963 in Brooklyn, New York.

In 1996 he also starred in an animated film called Space Jam.
However, he returned to basketball until 1999 when he finished his career for the Bulls. A year later he became involved in basketball again after becoming co-owner of the Washington Wizards and as president of the team. He played for this team for two years before retiring for good in 2003.
His business ventures include partnerships with Nike for Air Jordan products, and deals with Hanes, Upper Deck, Gatorade, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Chevrolet and Wheaties. Back in 1998 he started his own restaurant chain called Michael Jordan Steak House. He also owns the Charlotte Hornets team.
