In recent years, heart attacks in people under 45 have become commonplace. Stress is something that aggravates such phenomena because it causes spasms in the coronary arteries.
Smoking is responsible for 85-90% of cases.
Poor nutrition is also associated with these incidents.
Poor quality sleep still complicates this situation. And if we sleep less than 5 hours a day, the risk increases by 35%, than sleeping 7 to 8 hours.
Finally, the absence of breakfast in combination with eating a large meal in the evening, causes poor sleep resulting in high cholesterol, hypertension, and diabetes.
So it is good to do the following to reduce the risk.
• If there is a strained family history, we check for blood pressure and cholesterol.
• After 20 we check our sugar and lipids.
• If these are at good levels, we do laboratory tests every 5 years. If not, every year.
• No smoking
• Work out
• Regular meals with emphasis on breakfast.
• Sleep 7 to 8 hours daily.
• Fatigue test after 40 for men and after 50 for women.
• Ultrasound of the carotid arteries, abdominal aorta and the arteries of legs and arms.
