The American automaker Ford intends to produce electric trucks in four years. That’s why it has invested 11 billion USD (US dollars) to build a car assembly plant and a battery factory.

Car manufacturing is a big part of the US economy. It is 3% of it and employs over 1,100,000 people.

Knowing that the new trend is related to electric cars, the states of the country are trying to win ‘part of the pie’ in order to increase their economic benefits.

Tennessee offered Ford $ 500 million in incentives. So the company now has more than 17 square kilometers of land to build this factory. This decision was made 2 decades ago.

Automotive companies choose the location of their factories based on the area they need, operating costs, manpower and supply chain.

Thus Tennessee was chosen by the company because of its accessibility to other factories and suppliers, renewable energy sources and low cost of creation and operation.
