If implemented it would be the first fixed-wing aircraft to fly on Mars.

It is called MAGGIE (Mars Aerial and Ground Global Intelligent Explorer) and it is still at an early stage.

The scope is to search for water on Mars from high. Its flights will be at an altitude of 1.000 meters. It will also contact research for the magnetic fields of the planet and for life signals.

It received its first funding from NASA.

It will be solar-powered and designed to land and take-off vertically. When fully charged it could fly 180 Km.
